Chicago Vintage Mustang “Pizza Feed 1”

Several of us miss going to the “Corn Feed” in Des Moines every summer and meeting up with our online Mustang friends from around the country.  Some of us never had the chance to do it at all.

Also – some of us Midwesterners are feeling left out of the 50^th anniversary celebrations in Charlotte and Las Vegas…

So considering that, and the fact that it looks like there will be no more Corn Feeds – the Chicago Vintage Mustang Club has decided to host a rally of our own in the spirit of the Corn Feed!

The “Corn Feed” name came about as a joke about what people were going to do with themselves in Iowa – and the answer was – eat corn.

Well – we can do better than that here in Chicago!  We can eat Deep Dish Pizza!!!

We have a block of Rooms at the Joliet Towne Place Suites reserved.  Price is $109 per room per night and they are reserved for  3 nights (Check in July 10 Check out July 13)

Your $35 entry fee gets you a T-Shirt and Pizza Lunch on Saturday!

Thursday July 10 - Evening

Arriving attendees can meet at Towne Place Suites Hotel or Heroes West Sports Grill (open til 2 am)

Please meet at Heroes West after 6 PM (Zim will arrive after 8:30 PM)

Friday July 11

Ready to leave Hotel at 8:30 am.  Cruise to Chicago Planetarium Lakefront and Navy Pier.  We are working with City of Chicago on staging some great photos ops with our cars and the city’s skyline. (Estimated time downtown: 10 AM – 11:30 AM)

Then we head northwest for lunch at Superdawg Drive In – Norwood Park, IL

A classic Chicago Style Hot Dog Drive In Restaurant popular with locals and tourists alike. (Estimated time: 12 noon – 1pm)

Then a trip to the Northwest Suburbs to visit and tour one of the largest Mustang –Only Restoration Shops in the US - Mustang Restorations in East Dundee, IL. (Estimated time: 2:00-3:00 PM)

Cruise back to Downers Grove, IL for their great Friday Cruise Night .  Lots of cars, and restaurants / bars all around. (Estimate arrival around 4pm)

Finally we head back to Heroes West Sports Grill late after cruise for drinks (open til 3 am)

Saturday July 12

Ready to leave hotel at 9 am.  Arrive Autobahn Country Club for:

Facility tour.  Pizza Lunch at clubhouse.  Lunch Track time.

This is a members-only road racing track where we will be able to do a few spirited “parade laps” behind a pace car.  But fear not – he will keep the pace up if the cars behind him can handle it!

Pizza Feed Presentation will be during catered Deep Dish pizza lunch at the track.

After our Track Day, we will Cruise on historic US 6 out to Morris, IL for Northern Illinois’ biggest and best Cruise Night: (Estimate arrival at 3:00 PM)

Finally – we will cruise back to the hotel together and met up once again at Heroes West for a nightcap (if we still have any energy left!)
